Dasakam 22. Krishna Kadha- Story of Krishna
(Krishna’s story is told in this chapter highlighting most of his activities as suffering. This
is narrated in chapter 34 in the 4th nook of Devi Bhagawatha.Krishna lived in cow shed.He stile butter etc ,he was made
tired by Sun when he went to herd the cow.hE killed Kamsa. Since he was troubled
by Jarasandha , he had to vacate his city and go to Dwaraka.He brought Parijatha
flower from heavens to please
Sathyabama.He was given to sage
Narada who imprisoned him,.He had
to fight with Bana to recover
Pradhymna,Due to curse of Gabdhari , he lost his entire clan,. And later
went back to heaven.)

1.Sriya pathir Go
mala moothra Gandhi-,
Nyastha prabho gopa kule
vishanna,
Krishnabhidho vathsa
bakaadhi beetho ,
Rudhan sadaa devi ninaya
balyam.
1.Oh Goddess , the
consort of Goddess Lakshmi,
Sppent his childhood
in Gokula filled with smells
of,
Urine and shit of
the cow, having lost his luster,
With the name Krishna
and always cried,
Due to scare
of Asuras like Baka and Vathsa
2.Hayyangaveenam
madhitham payascha,
Gopir vilajja
sathatham yayaache,
Saa chaambaya gora
saucharya chunju,
Rulookhale
pasavarena badha.
2.When he was without
any shame started,
Always begging for
butter, , curds and milk from the gopis,
And was interested
in stealing the juices of the cow,
He was tied
to the mortar by his
mother.
3.Vaneshu
bheemathapa sushka gathrai,
Gaascharayam
kandaka vidha paadha,
Vanyaambu paayi phala
moola bakshi,
Dhine dhine glaanimavapa
Krishna.
3.Krishna became
very tired with a faded body,
Due to the great
heat of sun light in the forest,
And due to thorns piercing his feet,
And drank water
from the forest springs,
And due to daily
herding the cattle.
4.Deivna mukththaa
sa cha gopa daasyaath-,
akroora
neetho madhuraam pravishnta,
Kamasam nihathyaapi hathaabhilaashaa,
Stotra grasenayasya babhuva dasa.
4.Due to grace of God , Krishna was freed,
And leaving his ties with gopas, lead by Akroora,
He reached Mathura
and also killed Kamsa,
But without fulfilling
his desires ,
He became the
slave of king Ugrasena.
5.Drusthwaa jara sandha chamoom bhayena,
Sa bandhu kmithro
mathuraam vihaaya,
Dhavan kadaschid
bahu durgamaartha,
Sa dwararaka
dweepa pure pravesa.
5.When he saw
the army of Jarasandha he was
scared,
He rushed out of
Mathura along with his
friends and relatives,
Became extremely
tired and some how entered,
The Mansion in
Dwaraka island with very many
forts.
6.Sa Rukmanim
jambhavathim cha Bhaamaam,
Kanyaasthadhaa
dwayashta sahasra manyaa,
SAmudwahan
sasmitha narma laapa,
Kreedaarmrugobhooh
sathatham vadhoonaam.
6.He then married
Rukmani , Jambhavathi , Sathya Bhama,
\And also
sixteen thousand other maids
and
He started sportingly
talking and laughing ,
Along with them
and became their playing pet.
7.Sa daasya
vrruthi stridevajjahaaraa,
Bhamaa niyuktha
sura paarijaatham,
Sathyaa cha tham
govrushavath sarosham,
Badhwaa
tharou durvachasaa abhya
nishinchath.
7.As per the orders
of Bhama , he just like a thief,
Went to the
heavens and brought a Parijatha tree,
Another of his
wife Sathya , due to great anger ,
Tied him to a tree
like a bull and anointed ,
Him with very
bad words.
8.Sri Naradha yaatgidhaye
thayaa sa,
Dathodha
muktho muninaa cha neethaa,
Thathatha
yaasmai kanakam pradhaayaam
Punar graheethasthra
payaapa mounam.
8.At that time
when Narada came as a guest,
She gave Krishna to him
and he got freedom thus,
And when he was taken away by the sage,
She gave lot of gold
to the sage and,
Got him back and later she became mum due to shyness.
9,Soothi gruhaadh bheeshmaka jaasuthe sa,
Pradhyumna
naamneeswari sambarena,
Hruthe sisou nimarthithaabhimaanaa,
Uchairudham sthwaam
saranam prapanna.
9.Oh Goddess , when Sambara stole away,
Pradhyumna , the son of Rukmani from the delivery room,
He sacrificed his prestige and loudly wept and cried,
And He
surrendered to you.
10.Puthrardhinim
Jambhavathim aputhraam,
Sa
thoshayishyannupamanyu sishya,
Mudi cha Dandi
cha shivasya shaile ,
Manthram japan ghora thapaschakaaraa
10.For making
Jambhavathi who did not have
children,
And who wanted children, Krishna went to Shiva’s
mountain,
And became
disciple of sage Upamanyu,
And he did Fierce Thapas after
shaving off his head,
Holding a staff and chanting the Manthras.
11.Varenabhargasya
dasathmajaan saa,
Prassotha
sarvaa dayithaascha soure,
THadaiva
labdhwaa sa suthaayuthaani,
Sukham na
lebhe nijakamaadhishaath.
11.Due to strength of
the boon of Lord Shiva,
She begot ten sons
and all the wives of Krishna,
Thus begot several
such ten thousand sons,
But in spite of
that due to Karma ,
Krishna did not get
any happiness
12,Saapaa drusheenaam
DRuharashtra pathnyaa,
Sca anyonya
vairena kruthaa haveshu,
SArve hathaa hantha
kulam yadhoonaam,
Mahath
pradagdham Vanamaagni neva
12, Due to the curse
of the wife of Dritharashtra,
As well as various sages, in the war due to mutual enmity ,
Between them , All
of them died and alas,
The great Yadhu
clan got destroyed ,
Like a
forest which was surrounded by fire.
13.Vyaadheshu vidho
mruthimaapa Krisha,
Kusa sthali
chaabdhi jalaapluthaa abhooth,
Haa jahvire dasyubhirena saashtaa-,
Vakrasya saapena
yadhu sthriyascha.
13.Lord Krishna
died due to arrow of a hunter,
And his town of Kusasthali was drowned in sea water,
And the
females of Yadhu clan due to sins
committed,
And the curse of
sage Ashta Vakra ,
Were alas
kidnapped by dacoits.
14,Yevam Hari
Karma phalaanya buktha,
Na kopi
muchyetha cha Karma Bandhaath,
Dukham thaw
bhakthasya sudusuhham syaadh,
BHakthasya they
thath sausaham bhvescha.
14.Thus Lord Hari suffered due to results of karma,
As no one can
ever escape from ties of Karma,
And for a non devotee , the sorrow would be unbearable,
But your
devotee can easily bear it.
15.Jaanaasyaham
they padayorabhaktho,
Bhaktho nu kim
vethi na chaiva jaane,
Thwam sarva
sakthaa kuru maam susaktham,
SArvathra bhooyopi
Shive namasthe
15.It is only known to you whether I am ,
Not a devotee of your feet or I am a devotee,
As I do not know, you who are greatly strong ,
Make me also strong, Oh
Consort of Shiva,
Salutations
to you again and again.
