1.Samadhi magne
giressse virinchaath,
Thapa prasannath
kila tharakaakhyaa,
Daithyo varam
prapya vijithya devaan,
SAbandhava
swarga sukhanya bunkthaa,
1.When Lord Shiva
was in the state of Samadhi,
Lord Brahma pleased with the thapas
,
Of an asura called Tharaks gave him boons,
And he won over
the devas and along,
With his relations
enjoyed the happiness of heaven
2.Varai sa bhagowra saputhra
mathra,
Vadyathvamapthosya cha pathnyaabhavaath,
SArvadhipathyam
swabalam cha mohaan,
Matho brusam saswathameva mene.
2.Due to the boons he got he attained a state,
That he could be killed only by the son of Lord Shiva.
And that asura mad
due to ignorance, thinking
That Shiva
does not have a wife, thought ,
That his power of being master of everything is stable
3,Nashtaakhilaa
sri haraye suraasthe,
Nivedhayaamaa surasesha dukham,
Sa chaaha devaa
anayena noona-,
Mupekshathe no
janani krupaardraa.
3.The Devas who
lost everything informed ,
All their sorrows
to Lord Vishnu and he told,
“Oh Devas, it is due to our state of inaction,
That the merciful
mother has neglected us.”
4.THadvismruther jathamidham karena,
Yashtyaa cha
yaa thadayathi swaputhram,
Thaameva bala
sa nijeshta dathrim,
Saasthram
rudhanmatharambhupaithi.
4.”This has happen
because we have forgotten the Goddess,
That mother who beats
her own child with hands and
sticks,
And who also
gives everything that the child needs in plenty,
Is approached by
the child crying with tears in its eye.”
5.Mathaa hi na sakthirimaam prasannam,
Kuryaama
bhakthyaa thapasaa cha seegram,
SArvaapadha saiva
harishytheethi,
Sruthwaamaraasthwam nunuvumahesi.
5 “.Mother is our
only power and so we would try,
To please her by
devotion as well as Thapasd,
And make her appear
before us and that Goddess,
Would destroy all dangers”. Hearing this ,
Those Devas stating praying to you.
6.Nisamya
theshaam sruthi vakhya garbha-,
Sthuthim prasannaa
vibhudhaamsthavamathdha,
Alam
vishaadhena suraa samastham
,
Jaane harishyami
bhayam drutham vaa
6,Hearing their prayers
full of Vedic sentances,
The pleased goddess
told the devas like
this,
“Oh Devas, stop sorrowing as I know
everything,
I would destroy
your fear with great haste.”
7.Himadri puthri
vibhudastthdardham,
Jaayetha
Gauri mama sakthi rekhaa,
Saa cha
pradheyaa Vrushabhadwajaaya
Thayo suthastham
dithijam cha hanyaath .
7.”Oh Devas , for that purpose , one of my sakthis,
Called Gauri would be
born as the daughter of Himalayas,
We have to give that
Sakthi to Lord Shiva and,
Their son
would kill that Asura.”
8.Itham
nisamyaastha bhayeshu deve-,
Shwabhyarthidha devi himachalena,
Thwam varnayanthi
nija thathwamebhya,
Pradarsayaamaasidha Viswa roopam.
8.Hearing this the devas
gave up their fear ,
And at that time as per the request of Himalayas,
You explained to him
your true philosophy,
And She showed him
her universal form.
9,Sahasra seersha
cha sahasra vakthram,
Sahasra karna cha
sahasra nethram,
Sahsra hastham
cha sahasra padha-,
Maneka vidhyuth
prabhamujwalam.
9.She showed him her
very great lustrous form,
With thousand heads , thousand necks ,
Thousand ears ,
thousand eyes ,
Thousand hands and thousand legs,
10.Drusthvedhameeswarya akhilair bhayokthaa,
Thwam chopa
samhruthya virat swaroopam,
Krupaavathi
smeramukhi punascha .
Nivruthimarga giraye nyaghaadhi.
10. When he got
scared on seeing this form,
Oh Goddess, as per their desire , you hid,
Your universal form and appeared,
With a merciful
smile and told him,
About the path of
salvation.
11.Ukthvaakhilam
samsmruthi mukthi margam,
Sureshu pasyasthsu
thirodadhada,
Sruthwaa adri mukhyasthava geethamuchair,
Devaa japa
dhyanapuraa babhoova
11.After teaching
them all methods to get out ,
Of Samsara and attain salvation, when the devas ,
Were seeing her
that Goddess disappeared,
And Himavan and other devas , after
hearing
Your advice
song told in a loud voice ,
Engaged
themselves in chanting and
worship.
12.Adhaikadhaa
praadhurabhooth himadrou ,
Saktham maho daksha gruhe yadha praakh,
Kramena thadh devi babhoovakanyaa,
Saa parvatheethi pradhithaa jagathsu.
12.Then after wards , just like what happened
earlier,
In the home of
Daksha, the luster connected with Sakthi arose,
And sk lowly it turned itself in to a girl child and that
girl,
Became world famous
with the name of Parvathi.
13,Himadrinaishaa cha haraaya dathaa,
THayo sutha skandha
ithi prasidha,
Sa thaarakaakhyam
dithijam nihathya,
Raraksha
lokaanakhilaan mahesi.
13.This Devi was given to Lord Shiva by Himavan,
And their son became
famous with the name Skanda,
And he killed the
asura called Tharaka
,
And saved all
the world from all troubles.
14.Durvaasasa shapa balena sakro,
Nashtaakhila srir vachanena vishno,
Ksheero dadhim
sasura deva sankho .
Mathda thasmaad
dabhuccha Lakshmi.
14.Indra who had
lost all his wealth and prosperity,
Due to the curse
of sage Durvasa, as per advice ,
Of Lord Vishnu, churned
the ocean of milk,
Joining with asuras and devas and
From That arose
Goddess Lakshmi.
15.Yaa poojithendrena
remaa thavaikaa ,
Sakthi swaraischaryapuna pradhaanaath,
Shaapaan muner deva
gnanaanvimochya ,
Kadakshasthe
harimaapa bhooya.
15She who was worshipped by Indra and was,
Your Shakthi and
who was called as Rema,
Freed the devas
from the curse of the sage,
And gave back all their prosperity in heaven,
And due to your grace
again joined back Lord Vishnu.
16,Thwam sarva shakthir
na jithosi kenaa-,
Pyanyaan
jayasyeva sadaa saranyaa,
Maatheva
pathniva sutheva vaa thvam,
Vibhaasi bhakthasya
namo namasthe.
16.Are you the one
who is the greatest Sakthi,
Who cannot be defeated by any one, who always,
Leeps on winning over others and who gives ,
Protection to your devotees and you shine ,
Like the mother , the wife and the daughter,
My salutations
to you.
